Tevez sinks Man Utd

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

Tevez playing for Manchester City gets both goals to beat Man Utd 2-1 in the first leg of the League (Carling) Cup. The first resulting from a potentially dubious penalty, these things should even themselves out over the season, but are unlikely to in the case of Man Utd ;) .

To add to the spice of the fixture the FA are going to investigate Gary Neville’s one finger salute to Tevez.

Some pictures of the match, including a hate Man Utd Shirt!

Bye Bye Tevez

Tuesday, July 14th, 2009

Another of the most hated leave Man Utd - Tevez. After Ronaldo and now Tevez leaving we could be short of players to hate for the coming 2009/10 season….. nah, plenty of stuff will get under our skin!

The pleasure of seeing Tevez score for Man City v Man Utd will be pleasing :)

Six points for Tevez?

Saturday, February 7th, 2009

No not for winning games but driving without a valid licence and having windows which are too tinted. The maximum penalty for driving without a valid licence carries a £1,000 fine and six points. His car windows were tested and found to be too dark and as a consequence his car has been siezed. Ronaldo was also fined for having blacked-out windows in 2007. A picture of Tevez and Ronaldo, “partners in crime”.

Maradona helps out his Man Utd Pal!

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009

Maradona gets the Chelsea players out of bed and into the cold by setting off the fire alarm in the hotel hours before the fixture at Old Trafford. Chelsea go on to lose 3-0, which I’m sure pleased Maradona’s countryman Tevez! Maradona of course is no stranger to cheating!

A policeman caught a fan climbing the wall of the manchester united ground.
He made him go back and watch the rest of the match.

Orlando Pirates v Man Utd (preseason friendly)

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

A one nil win for Man Utd is hardly inspiring confidence. Makes a change Manchester United playing pirates and not being pirates :)

The 6-5 Rule

Saturday, May 31st, 2008

If the 6-5 rule was implemented what would be the effect on the game? For clarification the rule means teams could only field 5 foreign players and  6 home national players at any one time.

Negatives: The potential problem is that “big teams” like Manchester United will be tempted to “rape and pillage” smaller teams home grown players so they have a large squad to call upon. It could also lead to a headache for refs when substitutions are made. Indeed it may force smaller clubs to have to buy home nationals to fill gaps in the event of long term injuries which will limit their options. I guess in these circumstances transfer window exceptions may have to be made????

Positives: From an England national team perspective this seems good to me. It will guarantee a high percentage of home grown players getting regular football in the top divisions. This can only improve the skill levels and choice of players for the national team. Clubs would almost cirtainly be inclined to step up their youth development schemes. There is a higher chance of English children growing up with an English role model.

Famous Last Words?

Tuesday, May 20th, 2008

Carlos Tevez claims Man Utd have got Chelsea beaten before the Champoins League final kicks off in this article in The Sun.

Tevez said: “We are a better side than Chelsea and that is a psychological problem for them. ”

“We are favourites and everyone knows it. We are not worried by Chelsea. ” He also said.
