“Old Traffordish”
Monday, August 31st, 2009Arsene Wenger has added a new phrase to the English Language: “Old Traffordish“. Roughly translated it refers to poor penalty decisions that go to Manchester United at Old Trafford.
“The penalty decision was ‘Old Traffordish’. There were a lot of things that happened which were beyond belief. The ref made the decision from the middle of their half, so I don’t know how. It is difficult to go home without a point when these things happen. You know what you are going to get every time you come to Old Trafford.”, Said Wenger.
The ref was Mike Dean for the record. Arsenal lost 2-1 with their own penalty claim turned down and a late goal disallowed.
