A quick blog post today to draw attention to the potential of Man Utd winning nothing this season, a topic I’ve seen no mention of in the media. Wigan draw at home with Man utd on the last day of the season and Chelsea win against Bolton. Then Chelsea beat Man Utd in the Euro Cup final.
Nicky Butt (American for ar*ehole) and his team could not stop Chelsea winning by 2 goals to nil. This means it is all square on points between Man Utd and Chelsea at the top of the table with one game to go of the 07/08 season. Man Utd have the benefit of goal difference. Chelsea play at home v Bolton next and Man Utd travel to Wigan next.
Well there will be no surprize which team this blog site is supporting!
I cannot help feeling that an all English final somehow devalues the competition. It doesn’t feel “European”. This stems back to 2 things. The money spinning side of the competition where several teams from the same country are allowed to enter (not like the good old days of “champions only”). And secondly Man Utd not doing the decent thing and loosing to Barcelona!
I would really like to see posts from fans of either Man Utd or Chelsea regarding any of the above or their views on travelling to Moscow to play a “domestic” fixture, issues with getting there (visa problems?) or the influence of the battle of the bridge on the fixture.
A great result to coincide with the launch of this blog! Lets hope Man Utd don’t win the title!
